I don’t know about you, but using bleach to clean my clothes is something that I am leery of doing. I hate when you have the spill accidents, or something was accidentally tossed into the wash and now everything has been bleached. Even trying to use bleach to whiten can cause whites to still become dingy and gray looking.
What if I told you that there was a bleach alternative that you could use to brighten not just whites, but your colored clothes as well? Plus, what if this wonderful bleach alternative was great for neutralizing odors and even softening clothes?
Well, it exists, and you probably have some in your kitchen at this very moment.
What is this magical concoction? White Distilled Vinegar. You can safely wash your clothes in it, and it will perform like bleach without the discoloration of your clothes. White vinegar has many uses in laundry. It will whiten and brighten your clothes. It will remove smells, and the vinegar smell will not be there after the wash, I promise! It even softens your clothes. Use it like you would bleach by adding it into your laundry with your regular laundry detergent. In fact, I no longer keep my white vinegar in the kitchen. Keep a gallon jug of it in the laundry room and use it regularly. It’s perfect for children’s clothes when they may have sensitivities to other chemicals.
